Top-out reached for new Reynaert school in Kruibeke

At the construction site of the new Reynaert school in Kruibeke, we reached an important milestone: the highest point has been completed. Together with the school management and representatives of GO! scholengroep Waasland, we symbolically raised the topping-out flag. A great moment to celebrate the craftsmanship and dedication of everyone helping to build this new school.

Democo is delivering the project on behalf of GO! scholengroep Waasland. On the existing campus in Kruibeke, we are building a new school building for GO! Basisschool Reynaert and GO! Middenschool Stapsteen Reynaert. The building has two storeys, covering 2,500 square metres. Now that the structural works have been completed, the finishing works can begin. If everything goes according to plan, the school will open its doors in mid-2027.

What makes this project special is its open and flexible layout. The traditional school setup is making way for a central courtyard, landscape classrooms, movable walls and various project zones. The outdoor area is also receiving a lot of attention, with 3,000 square metres of depaving, two playgrounds, a kiss-and-ride zone and bicycle parking.

The new Reynaert school is part of Aurora Scholen, the consortium of investors EPICo and Rebel and contractors Democo and Van Roey. The design was created by HASA architecten. The Energy Circle will be responsible for maintaining the school for the next 30 years.

With the project now reaching its highest point, the new Reynaert school is truly taking shape. It is a great milestone for everyone contributing to it every day and another step closer to an open, green and future-oriented learning environment for pupils and the school team.
